Investing In Mutual Funds: The Advantages

Mutual funds as any other means of making money have their advantages and disadvantages.
Today I would like to share with you why I like investing in mutual funds, and in the following posts, I will tell you what you need to be aware of before investing in them, so you can decide it for yourself.

The variety of baskets

You’ve heard a lot that it’s bad to keep all your eggs in one basket, and instead, separate them in two or more, so you wont loose them at once, if one of the baskets will be dropped.
A mutual fund is all about following that rule - the fund manager will be carefully selecting several baskets to keep your eggs in, checking if they(baskets) are safe enough before doing so.

Most of us just dont have enough money to buy enough securities to invest in so many securities. With mutual fund, you can get instant diversification for every dollar (or any other currency). Thus, even with a small investment, you might own a piece of 1000 different companies.

Carousel of Funds Not so many people know that the stock market works as a carousel with wooden horses in two rows - one row goes up and another goes down. That’s it, to buy a stock, you need someone to sell it to you, and sell a stock, you need someone willing to buy it. In many situation, if you have a lot of stocks on your hands which belong to a highly undesirable company, and nobody wants to buy it while the price is going down, you stuck… You just can seat in your chair, relax and watch your money going down the drain…

Mutual funds can be sold quickly and conveniently to themselves, and each mutual fund is required by law to establish a daily price for it’s shares. If you are not satisfied with a fund, most of the fund families allow to transfer your money into another fund online same day.
